Over the past 24 hours I’ve read a lot of wonderful encouragements directed towards women on social media to celebrate international women’s day and I was reminded of this quote in Little Women. It is a glimpse into Laurie’s patient and encouraging spirit, directed towards Jo as she ponders as to whether or not her writing will ‘come to anything’. His encouragement causes her to pursue boldness and a ‘brilliant hope that blazed up at a word of encouragement’.
So let’s continue to encourage and support one another – especially in our faith – stirring up that blazing hope within and pursuing our God given purpose. God has a purpose for our lives, to bring Him glory and to shine His light to those around us. We cannot achieve this alone; however when guided by the Spirit and in healthy, encouraging and life-giving relationships with our sisters in Christ, we can run our races well. So send a word of encouragement to a sister today! Let’s keep the life-giving encouragement going, reminding our sisters that all things are possible with Christ and that it is all for His glory
