By Nicole Deese
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Molly McKenzie is a social media influencer with over 600,000 followers on her makeup blog, Makeup Matters with Molly. Driven by her number of followers, new trends and wealth, Molly’s life seems carefree and perfect. Despite her family’s disapproval of how she makes a living, Molly adamantly believes she is more than just a pretty face with an “addictive personality”. As Molly tries to grow her following, her manager and boyfriend Ethan suggests that she associates with a humanitarian cause to expand her following.
Without any moral dilemma, Molly selfishly pursues a summer mentoring position at The Bridge, a refuge and home for at-risk young adults. It isn’t until Molly begins volunteering at The Bridge that she realises how much is lacking in her life. She embarks on a journey of self-discovery and faith, opening her eyes to all that really matters. As Molly learns to use her gifts and influence for the good of others, she blossoms into a servant-hearted woman who meets Jesus along the way.
This funny and engaging rom-com is more than just a feel-good summer romance with out-loud laughs. In the mix of fashion, fun and social media talk, this book delicately delves into critical social issues surrounding youth and young adult support, at-risk persons, adoption, rehabilitation and forgiveness. Beautiful redemption themes flow throughout the book, and by the end of the experience, you’ll find yourself assessing the unique gifts you’ve been blessed with and asking yourself how you can better serve those around you within your community.
