The Holy Spirit is a Christian’s life-giving source of strength, peace, joy, and power. The Spirit comforts us, intercedes for us, teaches us, and shines through us; providing us with a way to live supernaturally, authentically, and effectively. It is a way of life that cannot be faked, replicated, or achieved without His presence.
Francis Chan asks us, why is it then – if the Spirit’s presence is evidence of our faith – that so many Christians, and Churches, lack His transforming presence and function devoid of His power and supernatural fruit?
What might the world look like if we as Christians, and the Church, reconnected with the Forgotten God? If “The Holy Spirit is as essential to a believer’s existence as air is to staying alive”, how can we better welcome His presence into our lives and churches?
In this humble and encouraging book, Francis shares his journey of reconnecting with the Spirit of God. He challenges us to do the same, with the hope that our lives, and the lives of those around us, will be radically transformed. Transformation happens in the presence of the Spirit; a Spirit-filled Church cannot help but stand out and be different – and standing out because of the presence of God will make the world notice. Let us truly allow the Spirit of God to take His rightful place in our hearts and direct our lives, and in the process, become more and more Christ-like as we journey toward His kingdom.
