Meditation is narration of the heart

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honourable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

PHILIPPIANS 4:8

Focusing our thoughts on what is true, honourable, right, pure and lovely does not come naturally to us. We must intentionally renew our mind with the true word of God. With the Holy Spirit guiding us, we can resist following our sinful desires and instead keep in step with the Spirit, fixing our eyes on heavenly things.

I’ve heard it said that “Meditation is Narration of the Heart”. When we meditate on the word of God, we pour truth, love, joy and peace into our very hearts – causing our hearts to turn from worldly things, and instead behold the light of the world.

What scriptures are you meditating on today friends?
