These are the Values & Beliefs that are held by Blossoming through Books. These underpin every aspect of how do what we do – both in the open and behind the scenes. (Note: Please know that Blossoming through Books is a non-denominational Christian Women’s Ministry.)
The Bible
- Truth is revealed to us by God though His Word; The Bible is the ultimate living book through which we blossom and live transformed lives (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
God
- God is Triune + God is One; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit; We ought to strive for relationships which honour and reflect this example (Genesis 1:1-26, 27, Matthew 28: 19, 1 Peter 1:2)
Sin
- Sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives; We hate sin and ought to lovingly support one another as we overcome strongholds and sin in our lives (Romans 3:23, Ephesians 4:15)
Salvation
- We are reconciled to God through Jesus Christ our Lord who offers forgiveness of sin which leads to salvation, a transformed life, and a desire to share this good news with others; We ought to see the fruit of the spirit and continued transformation in ourselves (John 3:16, Titus 2:11, 1 Peter 1:23, Romans 6:23)
God’s Authority
- God is the final authority in all things and the Lord Jesus will return and fully restore us; We strive to not be victims of our emotions, experiences, trauma, hurts or offences – we are victorious in Christ (Romans 8:37, James 5:14-16, Ephesians 1:22-23)
Commitment
- Our strong Christian friendships provide God’s fellowship to one another; We will not neglect meeting together and continuing to build each other up in our faith (Hebrews 10:25)
Discernment
- Those who we surround ourselves with influence us; We need to carefully examine our friendships to remain in life-giving relationships (3 John 1:11, Hebrews 10:23-25)
Discipleship
- As women we are all called to mentor others; We ought to be a mentor or be mentored by another (2 Timothy 2:2, Titus 2: 3-5)
Calling
- The great commission is a call for each of us to reach those who do not yet know God; We seek to evangelise to the lost (Matthew 28: 18-20)
Prayer
- We believe that prayer is powerful; We ought to pray continuously throughout the day (James 5:16, Ephesians 6:18)
Obedience
- God equips those He calls; We will continue to seek God’s will and ‘next steps’ for our lives (1 Timothy 4:14, Philippians 4:13)
